The parade was long, but good and William loved every second of it. He wanted to get down on the street to get the candy like all the big kids, but since he isn't a big kid he didn't get too.. I know... to over protective but there were way too many people there and it was like 90 degrees at 10:00 this morning and continued to get hotter! He did get his first taste of cotton candy and a couple of pieces off the ground.. They were still in there wrappers.. one of the big kids that were in front of us brought him a couple pieces.. He was delighted! William loved all the horses and the cars, but the firetrucks scared him when they blared their horns.. He thought they were cool until they did that and then his mind changed. I loved seeing him so content in watching as the floats and bands came down the street. He really like the music from the marching bands too. We were in the shade against a building with enough room for all of us and it was nice to share with my family. We decided to go down to the park and walk throught the tents but by the time we had walked the 4 blocks to get there we were all way too hot and had to decided to walk the 7 back to the car and get into the air conditioner... Thank God for air conditioners. But like I said besides the heat it was nice. We then took our travels up to Julie and Mike's house for a BBQ with the family. We stuffed ourselves and we were home by almost 3:00. We all needed a nap by this time since we'd been up since 7 and in the sun for the whole day. The nap was good and now we're just relaxing at the house! Happy 4th of July! God Bless America!

It looks like it was a lot of fun. Very exciting too. I wish I could have seen William going wild for candy. Looks like he was loving snuggling with Grandpa too. You will never be able to keep him away from the cotton candy either.............he is hooked. I hope you get a chance to rest up after such a busy and hot day. Talk to you soon............
